About Bath Cats And Dogs Home

Bath Cats & Dogs Home is a long-established animal rehoming centre founded in 1937, caring for around 700 cats and dogs each year. The charity works closely with the public, RSPCA inspectors, police, and dog wardens to support animals across Bath, North East Somerset, and parts of Wiltshire. Alongside reuniting stray pets with their owners, Bath Cats & Dogs Home focuses on carefully matching rescue animals with suitable new homes throughout the South West. Welfare has remained central to the charity’s work for over eight decades, with adoptions managed through an appointment-based process to ensure the best outcomes for both pets and adopters.

Kiwi

Somerset

Age3 years
BreedLurcher

Kiwi is a lovable, affectionate boy who adores people and is always ready for a fuss. He can be a little excitable when meeting new friends, but his enthusiasm is all part of his charm! We believe Kiwi may not have experienced life in a home before, so he'll need a patient family who can give him time to settle into his new surroundings and learn what home life is all about. Any time spent alone will need to be built up gradually while he gains confidence. Kiwi could adapt well to most households with the right support and understanding. When it comes to walks, he enjoys getting out and exploring but will need quieter locations, as he can be reactive towards other dogs and wildlife.Kiwi is a little under-socialised around other dogs and can find fast-moving dogs particularly challenging, so he is currently being muzzle trained to help him continue building positive experiences out and about. He is also quite the foodie and can be persistent when food is around, so some sensible management will help him succeed.
